OEHLINS MONOSHOCK S46

Original chassis are built for "normal" road use. If you also plan to ride your motorbike under more extreme conditions, for example with heavy luggage for which it was not really designed, or for race course training, or even actual racing, then you may be asking too much of the original chassis. Furthermore, many bikers find that the original chassis does not have the feel they are looking for.
The popular and inexpensive S46 shock absorber is the perfect upgrade for sporty entry-level machines and naked bikes. The damper is a single-tube design with a 46 mm piston. This monotube high-pressure gas shock absorber with an integral gas reservoir in the main body offers fantastic performance. The S46 is equipped with external rebound damping adjustment and preload adjustment.

Information:
Type approval: The shock absorber is type-approved and does not need to be entered in the vehicle papers.
TÜV: The shock absorber has a component test certificate and has to be entered in the vehicle papers.
WITHOUT TÜV: The shock absorber is not TÜV-approved, and therefore is not permitted for use on public roads in Germany!
S46DR1: Gas pressure monotube shock with 46 mm piston, integrated reservoir and adjustable rebound damping.
S46DR1L: Gas pressure monotube shock with 46 mm piston, integrated reservoir, adjustable rebound damping and length adjustment.
S46ER1: Emulsion monotube shock with 46 mm piston and adjustable rebound damping.
(T): The shock absorber lowers the motorcycle by approx. 16-20 mm, depending on the spring preload. This lowering is only recommended in the combination of front shock (60860020) and rear shock (60860004), as otherwise the height of the bike gets out of balance, which will affect the handling.
(V): The shock absorber has a specially strengthened spring.
(FRONT): The S46 replaces the front shock of the Telelever fork
