Tip: To solder the nipple onto the cable so that it can withstand a load, the end of the cable must first be degreased. Thinners or similar agents will not suffice for this task - the cable needs to be cleaned with special "soldering fluid".

Note: Cables are always routed in gentle curves, so the cable inner requires a little play within its housing in order to operate with a minimum of friction. Always choose a cable housing with an inside diameter at least 1 mm greater than the thickness of the inner cable. 2.5 mm clutch cables run more freely still in a 4.5 mm housing.
