Athena has developed a new line of "offroad" piston kits for use in most 4-stroke offroad motorcycles. These piston kits are manufactured from special high performance materials produced by reverse extrusion forging.

The molybdenum disulphide special sintered coating in the screen printing process improves flow/sliding properties, performance and durability and reduces friction and noise. The latest generation stainless steel segments are equipped with PVD coating in CrN (chrome plating) and wear-resistant reinforcements whose shape is optimized to improve adaptability under low tangential load.

The pistons, developed in Italy, undergo rigorous quality tests both on the dynamic bench and on the track to ensure maximum performance and reliability. These piston kits offer high performance and flow/smoothness, reduce friction and noise, improve resistance and durability and are suitable for most 4-stroke off-road motorcycles. The stainless steel segments are manufactured in Japan and the piston kits are of high quality and available at an affordable price.

PVD coating is a process in which the material, known as the target, is vaporized by bombardment with laser beams, magnetically deflected ions or electrons and by arc discharge.
