SHOEI HORNET DS

The Hornet DS is an all-terrain helmet developed by Shoei. It combines the benefits of a full-face helmet and an off-road helmet.

- Removable peak
The removable peak not only looks great, it also ensures perfect aerodynamics. In addition, it protects the rider against flying dirt when riding offroad. The tapered form of the peak reduces air resistance, particularly at high speeds. It reduces the wind pressure by deflecting the airstream towards the rear.

- Visor and nose cover
The innovative 3D-Pinlock® visor perfectly complements the helmet shape visually. The visor ensures clear vision and minimises reflections. It can be engaged in 4 positions. A sealing lip developed exclusively for this helmet ensures a perfect seal when the visor is closed

The aggressively designed nose cover (face protection) has an integrated slider that controls the air supply. The nose cover can be completely removed for cleaning purposes.

- Ventilation
A helmet is only really comfortable if it has efficient ventilation. Shoei is the undisputed leader in this field, thanks to many years of experience and countless tests.

With the Hornet DS, fresh air flows into the helmet through the upper air inlet in the centre of the peak. Air inlets at forehead level operate independently of this system to provide an additional, direct supply of air.

The warm and used air is directed through air channels to the rear of the helmet where it is discharged via outlets in the Air Stabilizer and additional outlets in the neck area. In addition, the Air Stabilizer stabilises the helmet by channelling the airflow at the back of the head. This relieves the strain on the rider's neck, particularly at high speeds.

Air inlets in the chin area and at the top inner edge of the visor prevent fogging.
Extensive testing has been carried out to perfect the efficiency of the helmet's interior ventilation.

- Fit
The inner padding adapts to the shape of your head and ensures the helmet fits securely and comfortably. The 3D centre pad, the cheek pads and chin strap cover are removable and washable. A groove for the side arm of spectacles is integrated into the cheek pads.

The design of the chin section ensures there is plenty of space around your mouth. The chin curtain reduces air turbulence on the underside of the helmet and therefore also the noise level.
